Outlook picture not updating
So, the purpose of this post is to shed some light on how this works today. There are several ways that users can view their profile image or somebody else’s profile image: When a user changes his/her profile image from Share Point Online, it is immediately available in Outlook and Lync. However, with Share Point Online we have learned that mileage may vary, so I’d like to hear from others. This has been a painful experience trying to understand how this works. Microsoft has some internal documentation on this, but nothing available to the public at the time of this writing.Contact photos also show up in Outlook and Office 365.There’s a reason for this: Contact photos are stored within Active Directory accounts.
They’re the little circular image that shows up in Skype for Business next to your name in the Contacts List.
The original intention of is that the contact pictures are being taken and updated automatically from the user’s Microsoft Account and any social network providers you are connected to such as Facebook and Linked In.
As you might have noticed, you can’t add or change a contact’s picture via the website at all.
However, when I look at my Contacts on the website or in Outlook on another computer, I don’t see the contact pictures I added.
How can I get the pictures to synch to so that they look the same on all my computers and on the website?
If these images were stored in a single location, this would not be a problem.
